Besides blogging, my new favorite hobby is Digital Scrapbooking. I am a newbie to both, and am teaching myself.I made this layout for an invitation to a party that I am planning. I would have posted the completed invitation, but it's a surprise party, and I didn't want the person I was giving the party for to find out.
When I was a freshman in college (1997), I was just getting in to scrapbooking. I enjoyed it, but then scrapbooking took a turn and started focusing on all of the embellishments. Needless to say, I couldn't afford that hobby, so I began card making. Scrapbooking on a smaller scale.
I love to make and send handmade cards. When I receive a handmade, heartfelt card, I am more likely to keep it. Forever. Unlike a mass produced card that I may display on my fridge for a week, then throw it away.
With digital scrapbooking I can have as many lovely embellishments as I like and I don't have to worry about how much they cost, or if they'll stay put, or if I can mail it through the postal mail. This hobby is a lovely solution to my long-time dilemma. I am so excited to begin this journey, and I'll be sure to continue posting my projects.
I have a little secret that I'm willing to let you in on. One of my dreams is to own a business making invitations for weddings, anniversary parties, birth announcements, etc. This hobby may be the beginning of something more permanent in my life. Anyone want to send me some work?
