Recently, Jader had a heat rash covering her hands, feet, and parts of her legs and arms. Little red bumps were sprinkled about her body. They didn't bother her, but they sure bothered me. She had a similar rash when she was just two months old, over a year ago. This time around, I knew what to do.I found a bucket to place into the tub. I then filled the bucket with tepid (not too hot, not too cold) water and added baking soda to it. I added about 1/2 cup of baking soda. I then let her play and soak in the water for 10-15 minutes. I did this once a day over a two day period and voila! the heat rash went away. It also made her skin feel so soft and supple. I always use Burt's Bees Buttermilk Lotion (for babies) on her skin, and I had been slacking on lathering her up. That is one reason why she got the rash. Her skin had become too dry with the hot weather and all the fun she's been having in the water. I also found a great product from our local health food store. The brand is Country Comfort and it's an pure and natural herbal Baby Cream. It was very soothing on her skin and helped heal her dry skin up quickly. It smells good, too, with a variety of oils and herbs.
One of Jader's favorite activities is to dump all of the contents of her tote bins onto the floor of her room. She thinks it's funny. So do I!

I used the baking soda remedy on Grace a few months ago when she had a nasty diaper rash. It really does work great!
