The mirror project is finished. I painted the frame black (Are you surprised? I paint everything black.), then distressed the edges and added wood stain in the color Provincial. The mirrors match my hutch and table, shelf, and computer desk.
Maybe in the next couple of projects I tackle, I will be willing to use some color. For now, I like black.
I did make something brown the other day, though. Here is a picture of a tote bag that I sewed using some old fabric from my mom's house.
It was an ordeal to get to the fabric because it was being stored in a wooden chest in the "Dungeon". The dungeon is a crawl space, about four feet high, in her home that covers the area underneath her living room, kitchen, and dining room. She has all of her life's treasures, my dad's treasures, and a lot of junk that she is storing for us kids in it. It is a mess. The little kids (grandkids) love it, but I just think of it as work whenever I have to go under the house to get something.
The fabric was worth the work. Here's the picture, as promised.

The mirrors turned out really nice. I paint everything black too. My mom teases that if you leave something at my house I'll paint it black. :)
