Busy, Busy (Breathe), Busy

I've been so busy this week; I feel like I barely have enough time to breathe. Besides being busy, my mom and brother are visiting, and any extra time I have, I've wanted to visit with them instead of doing my chores and other 'To Do's'.

Easter Sunday was relaxing. I cooked my first turkey. We've always gone to either of our parents homes for all of the major holidays, so I have never had to cook a turkey myself during my entire married life. This year, however, my mom called and said she wanted to come to my house for Easter, and we still had an 18 pound turkey in the freezer. The turkey was given to Austin last Thanksgiving by his company. I used an oven roaster to cook the turkey and it turned out wonderfully. I don't know why I was ever nervous about it in the first place. The oven does all the work while we wait.

I think more than anything, I was nervous about timing all of the sides to be finished at the same time. But, even that was effortless, and turned out perfectly. I am ready to host a bigger dinner group in the future, since I got all my 'first time' nerves out of the way.

We didn't have the Easter Bunny visit our house. We did hide eggs in the backyard for Jader, and she had a lovely time finding them. (I'll post pictures later). We did plastic eggs filled with stickers and some chocolate. This week she learned two new words: chocolate and jelly beans. The first is thanks to me, and the second is thanks to her grandma. I don't like jelly beans, so there was a big likelihood that Jader could have never had any until she was much older. But, her grandma loves them, so she had her first taste. And, since she likes sugar (like her mom), she loved the jelly beans.

Back to the busyness of this week. I had softball practice on Monday, a game against my home town-Union- on Tuesday (we lost..bummer!), a double header today against Richfield (we won...Yay!), and tomorrow I am traveling to Moab for a JV double header. Practice on Friday, then another game on Saturday.

I feel bad for my husband because he has seen very little of me this week. I know it is hard for him to come home and me not be home. Usually I am home a half an hour after him, but this week has been an exception. I have been getting home closer to 7:30, instead of 6:00, and so we only get to be together for a couple of hours before we go to bed.

Besides that, since I have been so busy, I am having a harder time keeping up on all of the house work. I want to be able to do it all. Unfortunately, I am not SuperMom, and some things have to suffer. The first of those being my strict housework schedule. Thankfully, my husband is very understanding and doesn't through a fit if the dishes aren't done, or the laundry put away. I am really lucky in that aspect. It is one thing for myself to be hard on myself for not being able to do it all, but it is a whole new ball game if my husband harassed me for not getting things accomplished. I love him for being so understanding.

Enough rambling. My friends and family, have a great week, and I'll catch up with you again soon!

Congratualations on a successful turkey roast. I bet it was wonderful. I still don't know if I'm brave enough to try it yet!

Great job on the turkey! They are scary huh, but easy. It's nice to hear that the Easter bunny didn't go to everyone's house but ours! We don't do a whole lot of "bunny" celebrating at Easter, a few eggs, and a few candies but nothing over the top. Good luck with your busy softball schedule!
