I've been busy painting my craft room red.
It's still a mess, but at least the walls are finished being painted. It seems like I have been working on this room for the last three months. I had two walls painted, then I waited a really long time to get the rest of the room finished. I hope to get it organized and in order soon. I don't like chaos!
I also sewed this crayon cozy for Jader.
It was a fun project, but I got a little hung up on the ric-rac. Thankfully my mother-in-law came to visit during the middle of the project and could help me with it. She's an excellent seamstress and I have a lot to learn from her.
Doesn't it look cute all rolled up? I hope to make a tote bag to match, and she can take them both with her to church.
I was in my hometown for the weekend, and played in a softball tournament. We played seven games in an evening and one day, and it really wore me out. My team took first place, however, so it was all worth it! Even if our prize was a hoodie. I would have much preferred a tote bag, camp chair, or cooler (as in years past), but I won't complain. I had a good time.
We also attended Austin's 10 year school reunion. We weren't able to stay long, because I was playing in the softball tournament, but we had a great time while we were there. KUDOS to those who planned the reunion and carried it out! I hope never to have that responsibility.
Let's see, what else has happened? Oh, we bought a new deep freeze to put in our garage. I was tired of trying to cram so much into the freezer (fridge combo) in the kitchen. It seemed like every time I opened the door, food would fall out, and I'd have to try to shove it back in just to get the door to shut again.
We also bought a can rotation system from Shelf Reliance. We bought the Free Standing System called The Harvest 72". I'm impressed with it so far. I know, we're chasing the market when it comes to preparing ourselves and getting our food storage in order, but that is the price we'll have to pay. We understand that it is vitally important to have enough food stored, and we are at a point in our lives (finally) that we can start taking the steps to really accomplish our goals. Buying a freezer, and having more space to store canned foods were a couple of our main goals. Now I have room to buy more meats, cheese, frozen fruits and veggies, etc...I am very excited about this prospect.

...make that ric-rac. Ooops!
I have missed your posts, so I will accept your apology. It was fun to see you for a few minutes at the reunion and that crayon cozy is adorable. Did you follow a pattern or free-style it?
