In Review: Month Five

My little guy is five months old today! I know I've said it before, but it really is hard to believe that he is growing up so quickly.

This seems like it was just last week. And this feels like yesterday.

Having GW in our lives has been very fun. He is such a mild mannered baby. He rarely fusses, and he loves his big sister. She is one of the rare people that can get him to laugh up to his shoulders. You know the kind, where babies giggle and it includes their upper bodies.

He is rolling around like crazy. From front to back, and back to front. Sometimes, even rolling more than once in one direction to get closer to a toy he desires. He is pushing up on his arms, and gets his little legs underneath his body so he is on all fours. It doesn't last for long, but he is already starting the steps to begin crawling.

Having a second child is reminding me a lot of what my first child did, and how exciting each new step is. I'm not comparing the two, just making notes. I want each child to be able to have a fun record to look back upon when they are older.

GW loves to reach for anything and everything. Just today, I was making a comment to my friend about how it is getting more difficult to hold him on my lap, and help Jader out with tasks at the same time. Before I know it, GW has something in his hands and is bringing it to his mouth. I am going to have to start being a lot more careful about what is in front of him.

He is showing interest in food a lot sooner than his sister did. I guess once he reaches out his hand and grabs food, eats it and wants more, I'll realize that it is time to feed him solids.

I love my beautiful, blue-eyed boy!
