Grant woke up this morning to a bad day. He didn't know what was coming, but within an hour he had some crazy things happen.
1. After he woke up (early due to a leaky diaper), I changed his diaper and set him on the floor to play for a bit. Before I knew it, he had his diaper off (which he managed to poop in during the time frame I was away) and was crawling around naked and pooped smeared. Lovely. Should I be concerned my eight month old can take off his own diaper?
2. Half an hour later, I was taking pictures on the stairs of the cards I had made. Grant was three stairs up, and decided he wanted to be next to me. He can't maneuver stairs yet, so I looked up in time to see him start a header down the stairs. It was quite an impressive somersault. No, he wasn't hurt, because I caught him half-way. Thank goodness!
3. I was interrupted by the phone while taking pictures, and grabbed Grant, my camera, and headed downstairs to answer the question the lady on the line was asking. I set my camera down on my work table, and proceeded to help this woman. Before I knew it, Grant grabbed the strap of my camera and pulled it down on himself. It's not a point and shoot, but my large DSLR camera. I didn't know right away where it hit him, but soon the tall tale sign of trauma was evident on his face, right between his eyes on the bridge of his nose. Now he has a goose egg the size of a marble on his face. Poor kid.
4. Last but not least, mom and her crazy fingernails gave him a little scratch underneath his nose (which is sore because he's had a runny nose lately). I was trying to feed him something and he moved his head just enough that I got him with my nail.
I'm hoping I can get him down for a nap soon before he has any more traumatic things happen to him. He's like a magnet for accidents today. I better watch him a little more closely.

Poor kid! It doesn't matter how carefully we childproof, they still find ways to hurt themselves. I can't believe he can take his diaper off. I'm so glad Will hasn't learned that skill yet, but I'm just waiting for the day. :)
That does sound like a traumatic hour! Poor guy!
