Kid-isms

Kalli has been making me laugh a lot lately. She has been making up jokes and trying to get us to laugh. Most of the time, the joke doesn't make a lick of sense, but I tend to laugh anyway, because it is just too cute.

She has also been a little mean lately, especially when she comments about my 'big, fat belly'. It's supposed to be a cute, pregnant belly, but she likes to call it 'fat'. So.not.nice.

But, anyway, back to the recent 'Kalli-isms'.

The other morning, when I opened up her window to let some light in, she said, "Ooohhh, it looks ominous outside!"! Seriously!?#*?! Where did she learn the word 'ominous', let alone use it correctly in a sentence. Totally made me laugh (and I was a little proud, too, because I like smart girls).

Also, when I told her that her Uncle Jason was getting married, she said "No, I don't want him to be married, I want him to be Uncle Jason". I'm not exactly sure what she meant, except that I have an idea that she thinks he is changing his name to 'Mary' instead of actually getting married.

Can't leave Grant out of these kid-isms. Austin told me the other day that while he was loading Grant in to the car, he was asking him questions about what noises different animals make. He said, "What does a cat say?", Grant answers, "Meow".

"What does a dog say?", "Woof, woof".

"What does Grant say?", "No".

Pretty much sums it up. He loves to say 'No'. He'll get in a talking mood and start jabbering, and will even say  most of the words we ask him to, but when is done, he is done! He'll just start saying 'No' over and over and over.

Oh, and we can't leave baby #3 out of this either. The baby has been busy having hiccups, kicking me, pushing on my pelvic bone, and getting ready to be born.

For the most part, we are ready for the baby to arrive. Temporally, at least, not necessarily emotionally. The bassinet is set up and in place, along with a changing pad on the dresser with the wipes warmer next to it, diapers ready to be used, and a week's worth of gender neutral clothing to be worn. The infant seat is set up and installed in the car (boy that was a workout, rearranging car seats to fit all three children in the Tahoe). The boppy is clean and ready to assist me in those first days of nursing. Now all we need to do is decide on a name, and go through the birthing process (that is another post in and of itself).

I keep hoping the next time I see you, you'll tell me you are in labor! Can't wait to meet him/her!

Kalli has more personality packed into her little body than most people manage to scratch together in a lifetime! Will misses her, and Grant too. He still remembers to say thank you for them in his prayers. A little sad, but still cute.
