I have been experiencing some unexpected side effects after surgery. Mainly painful side effects. I am sore in places that I wasn't expecting to be. For example, the heels of my palms are sore, as well as under my armpits, due to the use of crutches.
My right calf (my good leg) and right butt cheek are sore because that is where the majority of my weight goes when I am standing, and I am supposed to get up 7-8 times a day. Torture...I tell you!
I am also sore in between my shoulder blades. Most likely from trying to lift myself up and out of bed-which takes about 10 minutes to do when I am doing it myself.
I don't really think it is fair to have excruciating pain in my leg from surgery, and to have these other painful side effects. But, enough of the 'life is not fair' mantra that I've been singing for the majority of this year.
I have a lot to be grateful for.
I am grateful that my mom is here to help me with the children, dishes, and meal prep.
I am grateful that my husband has a flexible job where he can work from home if needed.
I am grateful for friends that not only offer to help, but actually follow through with it. No empty offers.
I am grateful for my youth and my overall good health.
This is just a speed bump. Life is good, and it's only getting better.

I didn't think it was possible but you've actually made me feel grateful that all I've had is the stomach flu for a week! Hope you get healed up quickly....it's no fun to be in pain!
