UBIC

We spent the weekend as a family in Roosevelt to celebrate UBIC. UBIC (Uintah Basin In Celebration is a yearly event to celebrate the unique culture of Northeastern Utah. We had a great time watching local entertainment, and making memories with family.

Jader had fun with her cousin, Golden. We put them both in the sink on Sunday afternoon after they each made a mess. Jader started the fiasco by dumping an entire bag of corn flake crumbs on the kitchen floor then rolling and playing in it. While we were making a fuss out of her scene, her cousin Golden decided to get into the paint that was left on the counter by his sister during an earlier painting activity. Golden ate some paint, missed his mouth a couple of times, and also painted his shirt. We think they created the diversion on purpose.

J has also been enjoying the many parades we have been taking her to this summer. Here is a picture from the International Days Parade in Price.

She was quite lucky at this parade. From the parade participants, she was tossed some purple beads, a white carnation, and a Popsicle. Maybe it's her dashing good looks.

I haven't seen much of Austin this week because he is working 12-14 hour graveyard shifts helping out with the mine collapse and rescue operations at Crandall Canyon Mine in Huntington Canyon. We are praying for the six trapped miners, their families, and those involved with the rescue operations. May God bring them comfort and peace during this difficult time.
