The next day, we received an email that the car seat was out of stock and we should expect it to be shipped on September 10, or sooner. A month later! I wasn't willing to wait that long, so I called an looked online for another company to order the seat from. What I found out is that most stores were out of it because the manufacturer was behind in making them. So, I decided to keep my order with Dreamtime Baby. The only problem is that they charged my card for the purchase, instead of allocating the funds. So, I was paying for a car seat that I wasn't going to have for another month! I definitely do not agree with that policy, so after a week of hemming and hawing over it, I wrote the company and told them what I thought of it.
I told them that their website should reflect only what they have in stock, and that they shouldn't charge the credit card until they are actually shipping out the product, and to compensate me they should send a different model car seat to me immediately. They wrote back saying it was policy, and if I didn't like it, I could cancel my order, and that they wouldn't send another model.
Well, I told them I wouldn't recommend them to any of my friends, and I would post a story about my experience with them on the internet on my blog. They changed their story, and agreed to send me a different model. I thought this was the solution to my ordering nightmare, but it turns out, this solution just delayed the seat even more.
Without going into too much more detail (because it was boring correspondence back and forth), I am finally to expect my car seat tomorrow! Did I mention it has been nearly 50 days since I ordered it! I needed it the week I ordered it, because Kalli has grown out of her old seat in length. So, the moral of my story is, do not order from Dreamtime Baby! They have a horrible purchasing policy, and poor customer service. They are slow, and misleading in what they have in stock. Save yourself the hassle and do not order from them.
On a happier note, this weekend, we spent a lot of time painting a hutch my parents gave us. It has been sitting in our garage since July, just waiting to be finished. It was a lighter wood color, and we painted it black to match our kitchen table. I am working on distressing it and then it will be moved into our kitchen. I'll post pictures of it, soon.
And, on a cuter note, I've mentioned how much I enjoy the Signing Time! videos. In the following pictures, Kalli is signing 'Cook'. Isn't she adorable? I just love the pigtails.
