Current Projects

I have been working on some fun projects lately.

First up, a cute little school desk that I picked up from our local D.I. for $4.
Here is a before picture, showing gold metal and blue paint.

Jader (our daughter's internet name) totally digs it. Yes, she has messed up hair and a runny nose, but isn't that what having kids is all about? She also looks kind of mad, but I promise she wasn't mad. She was having fun climbing on the desk.

And here is the after shot.

I know, it doesn't look that much different. It's kind of poor lighting, but I wanted to get the after shot for this post. What I did is sand the wood, then I painted it black. I added three coats of black chalkboard paint to the top of the desk. This desk will go in my craft room until Jader is old enough to sit at it and use it.

Speaking of my craft room. That is the second project that I just completed. I have been spending a lot of time trying to organize my scrapbook supplies.

Here is a before shot:
Again, I'm sorry for the poor pictures, but the closet doors are mirrors that slide behind each other, so I can't get a complete front shot of the closet, only two side shots.

Here are the after shots.

Over the next couple of days, I might upload the pictures into the Gimp and try to add tags of exactly what you are looking at. I'll label how things are organized so you can get the bigger picture. I think it turned out great, and I feel happy that it's organized!
