A Week of Vacation and Not a Single Picture

Is it even possible to take a week's worth of vacation and not take a single picture? Well, in my case, yes. I really can't believe I let it happen, but it did, and now I can't change it. I took the camera with me, but I never took it out of the case. Silly, silly me!

So, instead of pictures, I'll just tell you about it.

Monday: We spent the morning at the Vernal Temple. Thank you, Kristin, for babysitting Kalli! She had so much fun with you and Logan. Here is a cute picture of them together at Grandma and Granddad's playing with their cat, Samba.

Tuesday: We spent the day in Provo spending lots of money on groceries, electronic gadgets, and other various and sundry items.
Wednesday: We spent the entire day building an organized closet. Oh! I do have pictures of that, but I'll include them with the Saturday vacation details, because that is when we finished it.
Thursday: Kalli got sick. However, we had plans and reservations in Grand Junction, Colorado, so we still traveled to Colorado. We stayed in a dumpy motel (Austin wanted to save money on our hotel, but he made it up for me by buying me a Yakima Cargo Box....thank you, darling!), had good food.
Friday: We visited a botanical garden, and drove through Colorado National Monument on our way home. Beautiful, beautiful place!
Saturday: House keeping, lawn mowing, and winterizing the swamp cooler. Also, we completed the closet. Here is the 'after' picture. I am terrible at taking 'before' pictures. I promise I'll do better with future projects.

We took out the existing shelves which were awkward and ugly. We painted the closet white, added a shelf at the top with a bar for hanging coats, installed 15 hooks for hanging bags, cameras, umbrellas, etc, and installed a bench seat. It took two full days to complete this project, and that really surprised us. We thought we'd be able to complete it in a couple of hours. Ha! However, we really like the end result and it is a very organized closet.

We had a week filled with adventure, laughter and fun. I can't wait to take our second week of vacation time soon!

Before I forget, here is another after picture of the hutch we completed. Well, almost completed. I still need to finish the top door. We are going to put a piece of wood in the door, and will paint it with chalkboard paint to serve as a message center.

I loved watching Kalli! I'll watch her any time you want. She's so cute and quiet. Her and Logan had a lot of fun playing together. (I had fun playing too) lol
