Our hutch is finally completed(the outside, anyway). We took out all of the glass shelves and windows, and installed a wire mesh in place of the windows. We painted the glass window of the center piece with black chalkboard paint, and we use it as a message center for the grocery list and the 'To Do' list. When the inside of the hutch is complete, it will have a plate rack for our plates, and will house most of the other dinnerware used to set the table.
The dining room and kitchen walls have been painted red. Red Raspberry. And to be truthful, they are a little less red and a little more raspberry than I like. I don't mind the red, I just want a deeper color of red. I already have two different swatches of red that I would be more than willing to use, it is just a matter of time. I will paint the wall that the hutch is up against a deeper red, and I want to change the rest of the walls in the area back to beige. Or I may just paint all of the walls red. I'll just have to see how I like it.

Julie...your dining room is soooo pretty! I think, at least in the picture, the color is beautiful. And I love how your awesome "simplify" sign pops out against it! Nice work!!
