We had a fun weekend celebrating Austin's birthday on Saturday. I tease him that he is an old man, and he teases back that I am seven months older than him. Oops.
My parents came to visit for a couple of hours, and we also had some friends over that have children the same age as our daughter. It was fun to play games, watch the children play games, and eat cake and ice cream.
Austin whined a little because he said the day (and party) was planned like a party I would want. Meaning, he would have been happy just riding his bike, but instead he had to entertain guests that came to wish him a happy birthday. I agree with him, though, because it was a party I planned. Therefore, we did want I would want to do if it were my party. I told him that if he wants to plan my birthday party, then he can plan it according to what he would like to do.
I know that sounds a little confusing, but I decided this year that since we live closer to family and more of our friends, I want to make our birthday's a bigger celebration. Invite family and give them the option of whether to come or not. I figure the bigger, the better.
But, my husband likes things to be small and more intimate.
I feel like we made a pretty good balance this year, because two-thirds of the people we invited canceled on us last minute. So, we are both happy. :)
Well, Austin would be more happy had I bought him a $1700 mountain bike. But, that will have to wait for a little while longer.
We're looking forward to Thanksgiving. We'll be spending it in Roosevelt with family, and I can't wait to get all of the little cousins together to play. Hopefully I will remember to take lots of pictures.
Have fun and be safe.

I like the birthday party planning strategy. It makes sense to me! I hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful!
