I'll let you know how this goes when we finish the activity.
ETA: I didn't realize this was the hair clip/watch story. I've read it many times as a youth, but I don't think I realized it was titled 'The Gift of the Magi'. We read it as a family one evening, and it was enjoyable to consider the love these two newlyweds had for one another, and how they were able to sacrifice what they had for each other.
