Time for New Year's resolutions! My father was an avid resolution maker and keeper. In a journal he wrote for me, he was asked the question:
Did you ever make New Year's resolutions?
He answered,
"Always- still do and have for probably 60 years".
He wrote that "New Year's day becomes a day of reflection and thinking about and writing something concerning a new direction for the New Year".
So, to honor him, I am making a special commitment to my approach to New Year's resolutions. I have always made them in the past, but would soon forget about them. In the future, I resolve to stick with my goals and make them a permanent part of my life.
For the year 2008, I decided to set eight (8) goals. Some spiritual, physical, and temporal goals.
I'll share some of the goals with you, Internet.
1. Write in my journal every Sunday. I already do this, but I want to continue with it, and encourage my husband to also do this for our posterity.
2. Drink 64 oz of water daily. When I used to work, this wasn't difficult for me to accomplish. However, while at home, I forget to drink water. Now I fill my water bottles up (two 32 oz. Nalgene bottles), and try to drink them in one day.
3. Plant a garden.
4. Finish my Grab and Go emergency notebook. This is a great notebook I received from the Emergency Preparedness Fair held in Price this summer. It is a three-ring binder with dividing sections which contain copies of all our important documents. This binder is for emergencies like fire, death, etc.. and has all of the information one might need in a central location. I started it in October, and hope to have it finished by December 2008.
Those are the impersonal goals I am willing to share. Good luck with your resolutions, and may God bless!
