Paper Organization

One of my pet peeves is unorganized papers in my house. I found myself turning into my mother in the respect that I would put all of my papers that needed to be filed into a basket on the counter. And on the counter they would sit for weeks and months at a time until I finally got sick enough of looking at them that I would sort through everything and put the papers in their appropriate locations.

To help with this problem, I recently organized a little area in my kitchen to handle all of the paper that comes into my home. This desk organizer, from Wal*Mart for less than $10, does the trick for me. It comes in a black or silver finish, and has three compartments for filing. I hung it on the wall using two nails, and embellished it with some ribbon and letter tags.

The three compartments will be used for incoming mail, papers to be filed, and a misc. section. The misc. section will hold my current paper projects, invitations, and random temporary papers.

Beneath the organizer I hung a key holder that I found at Wal*Mart. It was under $5, and we hang our keys, our sunglasses, my ipod, and my Grocery clipboard on it.

If you haven't noticed, I just really like having a place for everything and everything in its place. I've been like this for all of my adult life, and part of my childhood.
