We melt some chocolate chips in a double boiler on the stove. Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, we carefully dip the pretzels in it. We lay them on a sheet and put them into the fridge to cool/harden.
Jader loves dipping the pretzel sticks into the chocolate, but she likes to eat them even more. We rarely have any leftover.
Jader really likes to cook and I am always trying to find ways to include her in the kitchen.
What do you do with your children to foster a love of food and cooking?

Some naysayers would probably frown at me, but I watch him like a hawk. My "helper" loves to turn on the oven light and check the food, he likes to pour ingredients into the bowl, he likes to help stir whatever it is, he puts the muffin liners in the muffin tin, and he likes to play in the wheat bucket when we grind wheat, to name a few. What can it hurt? He's not hurting himself or the food and he enjoys it. I'm not one to shoo help out of the kitchen!!
I remember the first time I met Jader that she was sneaking chocolate chips out of the fridge. I guess she's still a chocolate monster. How do you get the stains out of her clothes?
I use this stain pre-treater:

That is a really fun Idea...we really like to make sugar cookies...it is a lot of work but I make a big batch and cook some each day and then they can frost them what ever color they want...they love it and it takes up a good amount of time too!!! The girls also love to make rolls and bread sticks! I think spending time with your kids in the kitchen is really important!!!
