Going (I mean, Growing) Up

I can't tell you how much this girl is her mother's daughter. Well, other than looks, anyway. She looks just like her father, and acts just like me.

She doesn't have a lick of fear in her, and apparently I was the same way as a toddler. She is always jumping on the trampoline, climbing onto everything, and trying out new moves all the time.

I'm jealous of those awesomely muscled legs and of her flexibility. I want to be like her someday.

For now, I just hope we can get along. I don't know what it is, but we have been butting heads a lot recently. I know she is flexing her independence, and challenging her boundaries, but on some days, it is enough to drive me batty.

Each day I have to ask and pray for patience. It never was my virtue.

You know what happens when you pray for patience, right? ;)

I think it's the age, my sweet baby boy that was always so willing to please me is turning into an independent little stink bug.

Although, it really doesn't get any easier after this age.......

She is going to take after you and be athletic. I don't think it gets easier with the butting heads. I go thru the same thing with Grace! It's hard because I still want her to be my little girl.

Wow!! I have sooo been wanting to get Grace into climbing lessons. Or maybe it's just me that wants lessons! Anyway, little Grace and I have been butting heads lately, too. I think every child has to test her parents to really learn who is in charge. And by cracky, the parents must win!!

I know what you mean by butting heads lately. Allee and I have been going through the same thing. I fear that if we butt heads now, what will it be like when she is a teenager?
