I've been bike riding 10 miles a day this past week. I load both of the children in the bike trailer, and we ride a couple of different routes to reach the ten mile goal.
I figure that with the weight of the trailer (33 pounds), my daughter (31 pounds) and my son (~18 pounds) that I am pulling near ninety pounds behind me. With my extra baby weight and ninety pounds of pulling weight, the rides try to kick my butt.
However, I've been doing pretty good, and I love the way it starts my day. I can tell I'm getting stronger in my legs and in my lungs.
My husband pulled the kids for me the other day, and I thought I was going to take off full speed ahead without all the extra weight attached to my bike.
I love the feeling of riding a bike. It is so liberating. It really is one of my favorite things to do. I often ride it around town (instead of driving the car) to run errands, etc.
Right now, I just have a mountain bike that I am using for around town. I'm trying to convince my husband to purchase a road bike for me, but the $1700 price tag has him hesitating for some reason. :)

Way to go! Ten miles with two kids in tow is really great. I want to start riding, but my bike is a cheap Wal-mart hand-me down that weighs as much as I do (Okay, that's an exaggeration, but it is heavy)and we don't have a trailer yet. Maybe next summer.
