Kalli started preschool in September. It's not a traditional preschool, it is a group of my friends (there are six of us) and we rotate turns teaching the children. She goes to school (at a parent's house) for two hours each week. She has really enjoyed going to school, but gets kind of mad that she isn't going to a real school. The first day of preschool, we pulled up to the mom's house, and she asked me why we were going there and not to school. I tried to explain that it was school, and each week she would go to a different house. It took her two full weeks before she understood that she wasn't going to a real school. She's okay with it now, but it was hard for her to comprehend at first.
She associates school with a fun playground, and so far, she hasn't been to a house with a big fancy playground.
We did have a field trip last week though, and that was a big hit with the children. We took them to a local farm and they were able to see donkeys, an emu, a turkey, turtle, chickens, ponies, dogs, and some goats.
Did you know the largest egg produced by a living bird is by the ostrich (the white egg in the basket).
Did you know that turtles like tomatoes?
And that this is what a turkey butt looks like?
We had fun watching the goats butt heads (why do they call it that?)
And finally, Kalli had fun riding the animals.

That looks like it was a really fun field trip!
We are doing the same kind of preschool here. In fact I am teaching tomorrow so I better run, but we'll have to swap some ideas! The field trip is a great idea, kids love animals and we all learn something new!
