Repurposing

I love finding new uses for old items. That is part of the fun when it comes to thrifting.

Take for example, this picture.

I'm pretty sure the wooden organizer was used for cassette tapes at one point, but I've repurposed it to organize my stamp pads and some of my ribbon spools.

And, I also found the cutest quilted pillowcases, and an accompanying duvet cover while thrifting last week.

The duvet cover had a zipper than ran along the length in the back and the zipper part was broken. I'm sure this is the reason why the items were donated in the first place. But, the bedding is from The Company Store, and they sell high quality items.

I cut up the duvet cover and sewed some tab-top curtains for Grants room. I also sewed and stapled a table cover for his small table that hides his dirty laundry and has a place on top for his toy bins.

The nice thing is, both purchases were only $4 each. So, for $8 total, I was able to transform a small space, and reorganize a portion of my craft room.

Not bad.

I was wondering if you ended up getting that wood thing. How much did you end up paying? It think it's perfect for your craft room. I like the camo stuff for Grant's room too!
