Grayson: In Review: Month Five
This little heart breaker of mine is five months old. Grayson is a joy to have in our family! He has been telling me lately that he wants to start eating some solids. He grabs for food now. I call him "Grabby Graberton". He has a little bit of banana in a mesh feeder, and he loves it! He usually wants seconds.
I tried to get a picture of his two bottom teeth. They seem so big in his little mouth. I still can't believe he even has them.
He is getting so close to sitting up. He sits in his little Bumbo chair for a little while, but then he gets mad and tries to throw himself out of it. He has succeeded a couple of times, too. That is why I only put him in it on the carpeted floor. I saw my friend put her son in one on the counter, and I was so scared he was going to fall out and fall to the floor. Ouch!
Grayson's laugh is just the sweetest thing I have ever heard. He is a very happy baby. He gets a little fussy with his teeth, and when he is tired, but I can't blame him. He loves to laugh at his sister and brother.
He is rolling like crazy and prefers to sleep on his belly. All of my children have been belly sleepers. I figure that if they can get to their bellies, they should be strong enough to move their heads as they need to. Still worries me though.
We need to get him out of our room and into his own crib in his own room. I am looking for bedroom furniture for Grant. He needs to be in a twin, so Grayson can use his crib. A little side story about Grant and his crib. Grant has made no effort to try and get out of his crib. Ever! When Kalli was 18 months or younger, she was climbing out of the crib, so we transfered her to a twin really early. Grant, on the other hand, is so laid back and doesn't even try. So, that is probably one reason why he is still sleeping in it. Even though he is 2 years and 3 months.
I am hesitating moving Grant downstairs. He just seems too young to be downstairs on his own. But, I am thinking it is going to happen sooner than later. I might even sleep Grant and Kalli together until Grant turns 3 in January. We'll see.
Anyway, back to Grayson. He is a good baby. I need to help him out in the sleeping department. He does good some nights, then others he keeps me up a lot. Again, I'm thinking that his own room will solve this.
We love having him in our family, and it has been so fun to watch him grow.

Julie,
Love reading your posts - makes me feel just alittle bit closer to you. Hope you had a good birthday!
The whole situation with Grant in a crib is fine. My oldest slept in his crib till he was 3 because he never crawled out either. You do what is best for the family at the time and it all works out.
Best of luck! Love the picture of Grayson - such a cute smile.
He is so cute! Then again, all of your kids are. The only thing is.. when I read about Grant being three I did a double take. 3? Really!? That means my little Landon will be 3 in September! Our kids grow up too fast, Julie. That's all there is to it.
You're such a good mom and I love that I have your example in my life. I think about you all often and love reading your blog!
