Catching Up

We recently had some family pictures taken, and this is a sneak peek of the work of my wonderfully talented friend, Michelle. I am patiently waiting to see some more pictures.

As always, we have been busy with life. Recently, my tooth broke, and I had an unexpected crown done, then the car broke down, and the kids and I got colds, yadda, yadda, yadda. The list goes on.

We are all doing really well. Life is easier when you keep a perspective on things and learn how to prioritize. I am starting to make some adjustments with work so I can balance it better with my family and home responsibilities. I feel blessed that I am able to work from home, but find it stressful at times. I am learning that I can't please everyone, and I am okay with that.

I have been enjoying listening to conference talks while I do the dishes or laundry. I used to only listen to music, but realized I should use that time to rejuvenate spiritually. I am happy the thought came in to my mind to do that. I'll resume the habit of listening to the scriptures as well, because it just seems easier for me that way at this phase in my life.

My knee is doing well. I just passed the 150 mile mark on my bike. I've cycled all of those miles within the last two months. I look forward to riding and really wish I could go every day. It is such a fun way to exercise and my body craves it. It is good for my mind, too. I am thinking about riding in a Century (100 mile ride) in September. If I keep on track with cycling now, I should be able to do it physically. I'm going to run the idea by my doctor at my six month follow-up in June.

My calling as Relief Society 1st Counselor has been manageable. Not too stressful. I do find it difficult to dedicate some time behind the scenes every once and a while, though. I think the President is being lenient on me, given my circumstances. I just hope I can be a good example to the sisters in my ward and follow the Spirit when prompted.

God has His hand in my life, and for that I am truly blessed.

cute cute picture! There must be something going around because we have been sick too! and mom's can't afford to be sick because it totally throws off a hectic schedule.

Julie,

Good to hear from you - glad to hear your families news too. Nathan called David and talked with him about his recent biking trip - David is so jealous. Wish we lived closer! Happy Spring time! Planting a garden?

your family pic is adorable? Where did you take it? I love the rustic look with the wildflowers in the foreground. I can't believe how big Grayson is already!

The century ride sounds awesome. I hope you get the green light!
