When did I turn into a bad blogger? You know? The kind that never posts? Seriously, I can't believe another month has passed and I have not posted. I have turned into a once-a-month blogger. Super lame! (*This is the part where I would promise to do better, to try harder, but I can't promise that right now. I am doing the best that I can to do the things that "need" to get done. Quite a few things beyond the 'needs' have been pushed to the side for right now. My blog being one of them.*)
That said, for the next ten minutes, I am going to hurriedly put a post up about the happenings in our world.
Kalli turned five! She had a little party with four friends (five total counting her) and that was about all I could handle this year. But, Kalli didn't mind. She was just excited to be five so she can go to Kindergarten now. :)
Some of the gifts she received have me very nervous because they are super tiny and the perfect size for choking little Grayson. I found a Squinkies case in his mouth one day and it scared me to death! I have threatened to throw away any of the small pieces if they are left on the floor after she plays with them. We'll see if that helps encourage her to put her things away when she is done.
Kalli is so excited to start school in the Fall (should that be capitalized?). She can't wait, but I can. I am already feeling bummed that she will be starting a new chapter in her life and will be away from our home for a large portion of the day at school. I can't think about it too much, because it overwhelms me. Then there are days where I can't wait to send her. Such is life!
I think she will be an excellent student. There are a couple of things I would like to work on before she starts, but for now we are enjoying the summer. She is playing in coach-pitch baseball this year, and is doing really well. She gets frustrated when she doesn't get a chance to stop every ball while in the field, but she needs to learn to share a bit more. She has been great at-bat. Often hitting the first pitch by the coach (which is overhand. We practiced underhand pitching at home, and when she was the first to hit on her team, I was nervous when the coach threw the pitch overhand. It only took two pitches, and then she hit it. She's been hitting the first pitch ever since...just like her mom!)
I'm happy to have Kalli as a part of my life. She brings a lot of spark and spunk. She can be sassy and also sweet. She is a great big sister to her brothers, and is kind and generous to her friends. She listens when she wants to, and obeys 'most' of the time. She definitely has a strong will and I think it will take her to great places.
Love you, Sis!

There's got to be a mathematical equation for the ratio between blogging frequency and number of children. :)
Kalli is five?!!! The first time I met her she was 18 months old, now look at her! She's already a better ball player than I ever was. And I agree with you, a personality like hers is destined for greatness.
I cried on Grace's first day of Kindergarten. It definitely is a new chapter in life and it will make the time go by even faster! (if that is possible)
