My Ride

My ride is this Saturday! I am super excited! I will be leaving Friday around 12 Noon, to travel to Logan, Utah. I'll be making some stops along the way (doTERRA (of course!), Costco, etc...), and plan to arrive early evening for registration check-in.

I asked a new friend that moved to Price (from Logan) to let me know if she had a friend that would be willing to put me up for two nights, and I have some great sleeping arrangements made. It will be much better than paying for a hotel. I am grateful for friends of friends that are nice and generous with their hospitality.

My ride starts at 7:30am Saturday morning. The 100 mile riders leave an hour earlier than the rest of the pack (actually, the rest of the riders are spaced out between 8:30-10:30) so we can get the route finished in time. The route closes at 6:00pm, and if you don't cross the line, you'll be sagged in on the Sag Wagon.

This ride means so much to me. It was a lofty goal set last year while struggling to recover/regain strength from my knee surgery. I am feeling strong and ready to rock it, and I am grateful for a body that can heal and recover from trauma. This ride will also show me that I can heal emotionally from trauma, too. In fact, the 500 miles I have trained for this one day has been healing for me. Lots of quiet conversations with God, learning the direction He wants for me. There is nothing like riding in the middle of nowhere, hearing birds chirping, bees buzzing, feeling the slight breeze on my face while pedaling and having a conversation with God.

There are a lot of people cheering me on, and for that, I am grateful! I'll check in early next week with an update and a good story about my success!
