Wow! It's been a while.

I've had quite a break in blogging. It wasn't intentional. But, my friend Becky, said I need to start blogging again. So, I'll give it a go this morning. I need to thank my friends for keeping me in line, and for making me feel that I have something important to share with blog land. :)

Mother's Day was great yesterday. My husband spoiled me. He bought a beautiful bouquet of flowers for me. This is a rarity. Only because, early in our relationship, we decided that it would be nicer to receive a potted plant, or something that would last, as a gift for occasions like this. Flowers are nice, and I love the atmosphere they create in the home, but I would rather grow and cut them myself. Instead of paying for some, then having them die in a week or less. But, every now and then, Austin will still surprise me with a bouquet, and I must admit it brings a smile to my face. He always says, 'Now you can't say I never buy you flowers'.

Austin didn't have any meetings for church this morning, so he got the children ready for church for me, and spent the majority of sacrament meeting handling the children, while I was able to listen to and enjoy the speakers.

He made me a delicious meal of Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. He even made the alfredo sauce from scratch. It was yummy, and definitely a keeper recipe. He is getting to be a great cook in the kitchen, so I am no longer going to let him get away with saying that he can't cook dinners because he doesn't know how to cook. Ha! Not any more, buddy. I'm  putting him on dinner duty once every two weeks, or so. And, for my gift, he is going to pay for me to go on a weekend trip to a spa with my girlfriends in July, in Park City, Utah. Yay! Can't wait!!!

I had a great conversation with my own mother, whom I adore. I am so grateful for the environment she raised me in, for all the opportunities she afforded me, and especially for the love she so freely showered upon  me. She is a great mother and I will always feel so privileged to be her daughter.

My left knee is still giving me problems. I hurt it a month ago, and although the pain is gone, I can't straighten my knee out. I think it is locked. This is something that isn't going to resolve itself. I have an MRI scheduled for this morning, and more than likely I will need surgery. Guess I'll know more in a day or so. I'll keep you posted. I just miss being able to exercise and be active. I am tired of being limited in what I do. There is another twist to this situation, but I'll get in to more details later.

Things are picking up with my blog design business. I have had a lot of fun with this new adventure. I've "met" some great people (I should say I've interacted with great people, since I've never met them, and it is doubtful I ever will). I've earned some money, and it has been a wonderful creative outlet for me. I look forward to doing it for a long time, and learning a lot more.

Recently, I have been able to help out with a local photographer and his business. It is baseball season, and right now he is taking pictures of the children involved in the baseball leagues in the area. I have been working at the tables, helping people with questions about orders, and it has been fun to interact with the public, and learn a little more about what this photographer does for part of his livelihood. The company has been great, and I hope to help some more in the future since this is something that I am interested in, and it is a good reason to get out of the house. Thanks, Miriam!

Have you seen a physical therapist for your knee? It sounds like a meniscus tear if you can't straighten it. You can have surgery to shave out the torn area, but you can also rehab it without surgery. Studies show that both treatment options give similar results. I'm all for no surgery and keeping all my cartilage for when I'm 80, but then I am a little biased. :) Hope you are feeling better soon.
