So, here is a list of the things that are currently bringing happiness into my life.
1. Raspberries
Even though we started the summer off by totally neglecting our raspberry bushes, they are still producing their sweet fruit for us to enjoy. I love watching my little ones sneak off to the raspberries to pick and eat them. One of the first things we do in the morning is go out to the bushes and pick the ripe berries. Most of the time we just eat them, but after being gone for four days for the family reunion, there were quite a few to pick and I was able to get some frozen for smoothies, or baking with, later on in the season. These little berries bring us a lot of happiness.
2. Local Produce
We didn't get a garden planted this year. I didn't have the energy, and my husband didn't have the time. So, unfortunately, we didn't experience the satisfaction of growing our own produce (except for the raspberries, and some green onions). Thankfully we live in an area where produce is raised and people are generous with it.
I've picked corn, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, peaches, pears, plums, and hope to get some apples soon. I love the fact that I can put up fruits and veggies now to enjoy later on in the year. Hopefully, next year I will be able to get some grapes and cherries. Can't wait for that!
This is a food co-op that I have been participating in for the last couple of months. I'm so happy I heard about it, because the produce has been amazing!
4. Grant "thinking" about toilet learning.
Yes, I know it is gross to post a picture of poop on a blog, but if any of you know me well enough, you know that it doesn't phase me in the least. I was so proud of my son on this day (three weeks ago), that I had to take a picture of proof. Since this day he has gone a handful of times (#1 and #2), but I think it is more fun than anything. I am not making a big deal out of it, because I don't want to be disappointed when he loses interest.
5. Ducks at Lunch
When we were in St. George for our reunion, we had a picnic lunch after visiting the local Saturday Market. There was a small pond about 300 yards from our picnic table, and as soon as we were finished eating, about two dozen ducks came from the pond to get food from us. They came in groups, and before we knew it, they were surrounding us and begging for more food. It was funny. And, even though I feel bad about feeding them bread, it was quite funny and an experience I'll remember for a long time. Grant kept quacking like a duck and saying 'duck' for the rest of the weekend. It totally made my day.
6. My Bed
We bought this bed just after Grant was born. It is a memory foam type of bed, and there have been some nights in the past when I have not liked this bed. But, while being pregnant, this bed has been a lifesaver. I love that it takes all of the pressure off of my sore body, and I can sleep on either side, and on my back if I want to because my body just sinks in. There have been some times when I am lying on my stomach and it isn't uncomfortable at all. It has helped me sleep so well during this pregnancy, and I have loved it.
7. Dr. Laura
Most of you know that I am a huge Dr. Laura fan. I have been listening to her for 13 years. I have even spoken to her on the phone. I was sad to hear that she is leaving radio at the end of the year. But, she promises that she'll be using a lot of other platforms to get her message across. All I know, is that come January 1, 2011, I will no longer be able to listen to Dr. Laura as I clean my kitchen. She will be missed on my radio.
8. My Family
I am so lucky to have the family that I have. Every day they are bringing joy and happiness into my life. I am blessed to have a patient and understanding man. He works so hard to make me happy, and he is the best father to our children. And, our children bring lots of laughs and love into my life. They are silly and I really enjoy them!
What makes you happy?

You talked to dr. Laura? Brave!! I have only discovered her radio station as of late and only listen to her when I am driving during that time. I agree with most of what she says but she is soooo mean/short with people on the phone. My jaw drops OFTEN when I listen to her. Do you think so to or am I just tender hearted? he he.
Yum...raspberries. I really need to plant a few raspberry bushes. I have some serious childhood memories that involve raspberry bushes (including getting stung on the tongue by a bee I popped into my mouth with the berry!)
